Bio
Vanessa Smith lives and works in Raymond, Maine, on Sebago Lake. She keeps two practices side by side: painting, and accounting. Both ask for a true line, patience, and a long view.
The town is in the Lakes Region. Light there changes slowly — white pine, granite shore, a cove that goes quiet in October, a field that holds snow. Those are the subjects this draft catalog is built around, until her own paintings are on the wall.
She sells originals, one of each. Studio visits are by appointment. A portrait and an exhibition list are not on this page yet; she can write them in from the studio once she claims it.
Other people named Vanessa Smith — a painter in London, and a poet and filmmaker in Bedford, New York — are different artists. Their work is not shown here. Her street address and telephone stay off the site until she chooses a public contact. A note sent through the form is kept in the studio. It is not emailed on its own.

A residential record exists for a Vanessa Smith in Raymond. Her street address and telephone number are left off this site on purpose. She can add the contact she wants visitors to have.
The paintings currently in the gallery are stand-ins, so the shop can be tried before her own photographs are uploaded. They are not claimed as her work. Titles, prices, and these words can all be changed from the studio after she signs in.
